Bio

Originally from the East African country of Eritrea, Tesfai comes to CSS from a previous position as a nurse with the Sudan Council of Churches (under the UNHCR program) serving refugees in camps for MCH and TB follow up. Himself a refugee, Tesfai settled in the US in 1984. After some initial training in administration, Tesfai joined CSS in early 1985 as a mail clerk while pursuing evening education, eventually graduating with an associate degree in Science from Bronx Community College. Later, he graduated from Brooklyn College with a BS/Accounting. Over his long tenure here at CSS, Tesfai has served as Purchasing Agent and is now Director of Facilities and Office Services. Tesfai refers proudly to CSS as his second home.
