New York City SNAP Recipients Express Anxiety Over Federal Policy

This brief examines findings from a new survey of SNAP recipients in New York City, uncovering that federal policy changes have generated widespread anxiety and measurable hardship. In response to these findings, we urge policymakers and community and health organizations to deliver targeted supports to that mitigate harm, such as help obtaining medical documentation, expanded funding for food pantries, and close monitoring of disenrollment and food‑security outcomes.
