What New Yorkers Want: Housing Stability, Diverse Communities, and Support for Immigrant Families

Public housing and voucher-holding households are under severe threat due to federal funding and proposed rule changes that would force mixed-status immigrant families to choose between eviction and separation. This report draws on data from the CSS 2025 Annual Survey of Housing and Economic Security as well as a national survey and finds strong support among New Yorkers across political lines to keep mixed-status households together.
