CSS’s Judith Whiting elected to NYC Bar Association Executive Committee
This Tuesday, CSS General Counsel Judith Whiting was elected to the New York City Bar Association Executive Commitee.
The New York City Bar Association (City Bar) is a voluntary association of lawyers and law students with over 24,000 members. Founded in 1870 in response to growing public concern over corruption in the justice system in New York City, the City Bar equips and mobilizes the legal profession to practice with excellence, promote reform of the law, and uphold the rule of law and access to justice in support of a fair society and the public interest. Its affairs are managed by the Executive Committee, whose members are appointed for four-year terms.
As General Counsel for CSS, Whiting performs day-to-day legal work and directs the Legal Department, helping to develop litigation and non-litigation approaches to ending discrimination against people with criminal conviction histories, with a particular emphasis on employment and housing.
Whiting's term on the Executive Committee will run through 2023. Meet the full City Bar Executive Committee here.
