CSS Welcomes Eight New Members of the Board of Trustees

CSS is pleased to announce the election of eight new members of its Board of Trustees at a Board meeting held on June 6, 2023. These new Trustees bring a diversity of skills and experience to their Board service. We welcome the following individuals: 

Matthew J. Camp

Matthew is a government relations professional with nearly 20 years of experience in politics, public policy, and advocacy. He is Director of Government Relations & Community Engagement for Teachers College, Columbia University, where he oversees alumni relations and cultivates relationships with city, state, and federal government officials. He holds a Ph.D. in Politics & Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Masters of Public Policy from Rutgers University, and a B.A. with distinction from the University of Delaware.

Kimberley Chin

Kimberley Chin is currently a Senior Program Officer at the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation (MCHF). Prior to coming to the MCHF in 2021, Kimberley served as the Deputy Director of the Children's Defense Fund - New York (CDF-NY) for five years with her last six months serving as the Acting Executive Director. Before joining New York City ACS as Director of Public Private Partnerships, Kimberley was an Atlantic Philanthropies Senior Visiting Fellow at Fordham Law School’s Feerick Center for Social Justice focused on economic justice and equity issues. Kimberley received her MPA from New York University and her law degree from Fordham University in New York City.

Abigail Feuer

Abigail currently works as Executive Vice President, Marketing and Growth at DonorsChoose, the #1 crowdfunding platform for US public school teachers and a force for educational equity, holding various positions there over the past ten years. She holds an MBA from UC – Berkeley, Haas School of Business and an A.B. from Harvard University.

Richard N. Gottfried

Richard was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 75 (Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen and parts of midtown and the Upper West Side). He assumed office in 1971 and chaired the Assembly Health Committee since 1987. He retired from office on December 31, 2022. Richard's other political experience includes being a State Committee member for the New York State Democratic Committee, Assembly deputy majority leader and a chair of the Codes Committee and a district leader of the New York County Democratic Executive Committee. Richard earned his B.A. in Government from Cornell University and his J.D. from Columbia Law School. He briefly practiced law in 1974 but since then had no occupation other than the Assembly.

Doug Lawrence

Doug Lawrence has 27 years of distinguished real estate industry experience and is considered an industry leader on the application of sustainable principles to real estate. He co-founded in 2010, 5 Stone Green Capital LLC, a 100% green closed-end real estate fund. Prior to forming 5 Stone, Doug spent 13 years at JPMorgan as a key member of the real estate asset management team. Doug earned his MBA from the University of Connecticut in International Business Finance (minor Accounting) and received his B.A. from Yale University.

Mark Lofton

Mark is a digital marketing executive with over eight years of corporate finance marketing experience. Mark has held various positions at Morgan Stanley, most recently as Assistant Vice President, Digital Marketing. Mark holds a B.A. from California State University and an MBA from Fordham Gabelli School of Business.

Teal Newland

Teal was most recently at Condé Nast, where she was the SVP of Global Digital Video, overseeing the development and programming of over 10,000 videos a year, as well as the company’s branded entertainment business, across all Condé Nast brands. Teal Attended University of Washington, Seattle.

Sarah S. Park

Sarah is currently Senior Counsel in the Hearst Office of General Counsel, where she advises on pre-litigation risk management for Hearst’s myriad businesses across a range of issues and manages all stages of litigation in state and federal court. Sarah has a B.A. from Harvard College, attended Sciences Po Paris, and earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
