“My CSS navigator gave me the information I need.”

Jaime N. was uninsured when he met with a CSS Navigator about enrolling in coverage through the NY State of Health marketplace. He worried that if he got sick or hurt, he wouldn’t be able to afford the medical bills.

Nearly 60 at the time, Jaime knew he shouldn’t take chances with his health.  “If anything happens, I need to know I'm covered and will get the best care.” He met with the navigator at South Asian Council for Social Services, a CSS Consumer Navigator Network partner agency. 

They reviewed coverage options, and Jaime learned he was eligible for $800 in Advanced Premium tax Credits and Cost Sharing Reductions, which lowered his Silver Plan premium to exactly $0 a month. Jaime was thrilled! “It gives me assurance that in case something happens I know I am covered and I will get the best care,” says Jaime of his new insurance.  “I can go to the doctor with ease, with no burden of having to pay huge bills.”

Of the assistance he received, Jaime said: “My navigator provided me with the information I need. I am grateful for the help."
