Kimberly Westcott is Associate Counsel in CSS’s Office of the General Counsel, and a graduate of Yale University (B.A., History) and Rutgers University School of Law-Newark. A labor and employment attorney with the New York City Transit Authority’s (NYCTA) Office of the General Counsel, Kim practiced labor law and general litigation with two large law firms prior to her tenure with NYCTA.
Kim also has a substantive background in social work and social welfare policy, receiving her MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW) in 2003, and recently completing her PhD in Social Welfare Policy from Columbia in 2011. Interested in promoting social inclusion for vulnerable groups, particularly persons marginalized by poverty and stigmatized by the criminal punishment system, Kim is excited to assist CSS in its work of removing barriers to employment and promoting inclusion for the formerly incarcerated. On a personal note: Kim really, really enjoys long distance running.
