Amber Wilson joined Health Initiatives as a Quality Assurance Manager in April 2015 for a new program to help aged, blind, and disabled (FE-ABD) New Yorkers apply for public health insurance through the Local Department of Social Services (LDSS) with the help of Facilitated Enrollers (FE). She is now the Program Manager for Citywide Health Initiatives managing and developing New York City projects to help community members enroll in and use health coverage. In addition she will be focusing on New York City health policy and funding issues as they relate to coverage, access to care, and health equity.
Amber graduated from Dillard University with a BA in Mass Communications, and then from The University of New Orleans with a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on non-profit management. In 2012, Amber joined the Healthcare Access Team at the Westchester County Department of Health, where she worked as a Community Health Advocate, Facilitated Enroller, Quality Assurance Assistant and eventually a Navigator. Before joining CSS, Amber served as the Organizing Coordinator and Navigator for Young Invincibles (YI).
