Summary: New York City’s supply of rent-regulated apartments is rapidly dwindling. In this report, we describe the economic and demographic profile of rent-regulated tenants, the impact of rent regulation on affordability, and changes in the supply of housing units affordable to low- and middle-income people from 2000 to 2007.
