Summary: This report, prepared for and with the support of JobsFirstNYC, analyzes important trends within the New York City labor market pertaining to young adults' ability to find and advance in jobs. The report considers both supply and demand for youth labor; key characteristics of those out-of-school and out-of-work, including demographics, where they live, skill levels, and barriers they face; and compares how young adults have fared in the labor market over time using data from 2001 and 2011.
