CSS believes that work is the surest pathway out of poverty, yet far too many hard-working New Yorkers can't make ends meet because of low wages, insufficient benefits, and few prospects for career advancement. Others face steep barriers to employment due to conviction histories or a lack of educational credentials. CSS responds by developing policies and programs that put more New Yorkers on the path to secure employment.
