Alina Molina
Vice President, Program Services
Alina Molina is currently Vice President, Program Services, at CSS. She oversees all of the direct services of the organization, including the Voluntary Initiatives – the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Experience Corps – the Center for Benefits & Services, the Medicaid Choice Education Project, and the Center for Program Demonstration and Innovation – Workforce Advocacy Support Initiative (WASI Project).
RSVP is a nationally-acclaimed program that enlists older adults and retirees to serve as volunteers in their communities. It is the largest older adult volunteer program in the nation with more than 7,000 volunteers who contribute one and a half million hours of service annually working in 500 organizations throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
In 1996, Ms. Molina created the New York City Experience Corps Project, an intergenerational early childhood literacy and mentoring program. Since its inception, the program has provided services to thousands of elementary school children and has achieved national recognition for programming excellence. The program has been replicated throughout the country.
“As an innovator of service delivery in low-income communities, CSS is able to extend its impact to nearly every corner of the city. Recognizing the potential impact that our program services can achieve - whether through training programs, partnerships with community-based services providers, volunteer mobilization, and individual assistance and advocacy - is very personally gratifying.”
Before coming to CSS, Ms. Molina was a community organizer with People Acting through Community Effort (PACE) in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to that, she served as a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) community organizer at Dorchester Neighbors Organizing Neighbors in Massachusetts.
Ms. Molina is the past President of the New York Association for Volunteer Administration (NY AVA) and has taught Managing and Working with Volunteers at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies. She conducts Developing & Managing Volunteer Programs for the Support Center for Nonprofit Management. She is also a member of the National Senior Corps Association, the New York State Senior Service Corps Association, the New York State Intergenerational Network, and the Lighthouse International People Committee.
Ms. Molina holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the New School's Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Massachusetts.
